From Ameland, you can walk straight onto the Wadden Sea at low tide. Birds are foraging for food. There are guides to show you the way. It is even possible to walk across the Wadden Sea on a guided excursion from Frisian coast to Ameland. Mudflat hiking is a very special experience.
