Of course you can on Ameland stay in a hotel or B&B, but a studio, a apartment, a detached house or a tent is possible.
Some stays have a special price for 1-2 people outside school holidays. Anyway, off-season prices are a lot friendlier than in summer.
If your accommodation has cooking facilities, you can cook for yourself and experiment with new dishes you've always wanted to make but never got around to.
But on Ameland are many restaurants where you can have a great lunch or enjoy a meal.
There are many things to do on Ameland. Hiking, cycling, horse riding, kite surfing, seeing a museum or an excursion with the forester you can do together with (casual) fellow travellers as well as solo.
Time for yourself in the form of reading, writing or yoga is fine solo. Tip: do that too do somewhere in nature on Ameland if the weather permits. A completely different experience.
A tour or cruise, a concert, a trip to the seals are all possibilities on Ameland that often can, but obviously don't have to.
Just sitting in a sheltered spot in nature and quietly looking around is something that is often better to do solo. Then you get new insights, ideas and can make new strides.
